If you are exercising often then you are likely short on time already without adding any cooking into the mix, but don't panic! These bars really are as easy as it gets!
Ingredients
Just get your hands on the following;
- 2 KMC PRO MIX Sachets
- 6 Bananas (the riper the better!)
- 1 Cup of Peanut Butter (Can be smooth or crunchy as its going through the blender anyway)
- 1/2 a cup of Cocoa Powder
All you need to do is combine your ingredients and stick them in the blender until smooth!
This can take longer if you are using crunchy peanut butter but make sure to stick to 30-45 second bursts so that you don't upset your blender.
You will be left with a smooth minty brownie mix which can then be poured into a greased or paper lined baking tray.
Stick this in the oven for 15-18 minutes at 180 Degrees and remove once you can poke it with a fork and have it come out cleanly.
It is best to let these cool in the baking tray and then you can cut and remove them, You should be aiming for around 8 bars from this recipe. Between the PRO MIX and Peanut Butter each bar should provide you with around 10g of protein!
Steps
Preheat oven to 180 Degrees.
Step 1 ; Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
Step 2 ; Pour into greased or lined baking tray.
Step 3 ; Bake for 15-18 minutes until you can poke center with a fork and remove it cleanly.
Step 4 ; Allow to cool in baking tray and cut into approx 8 bars.
Step 5 ; Enjoy!!
Does cooking with Protein Powders Denature them?
Yes and no! Yes cooking the powder at a high temperature breaks the bonds between the amino acids and changes their shape however this does not affect their function or their nutritional value.
Do these bars need to be stored in the fridge?
It depends! They will be fine out of the fridge for a few days. Any longer than that and they will need to go in the fridge as they contain Banana. once they go into the fridge they will look a bit wet on top however this will not affect their taste!
