Do electrolytes give you energy?
No. Electrolytes are minerals and do not provide meaningful energy. Carbohydrate supplies fuel during prolonged or hard exercise. An isotonic sports drink combines electrolytes with carbohydrate, while many electrolyte-only drinks contain little or no carbohydrate.
